Japanese, German, and Italian Enemy Alien Internment Camps in Texas During WWII
The lessons of history would all too soon be forgotten without the dedication of people like historian William McWhorter, recently named Executive Director of the Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission (THGC). The organization is, in McWhorter’s words, “responsible for promoting awareness and helping with the education of Texans about the Holocaust and several other genocides.”
Mr. McWhorter will be at the Katherine Tyra at Bear Creek Library on Monday, October 17th at 6:30 PM. He will discuss the historical facts surrounding the internment camps in Texas during World War II, with a focus on the Japanese, German, and Italian Enemy Alien Internment Camps the U.S. Federal Government maintained in Texas.
