Have a Gulf Coast Reads Weekend, October 3-4
The first weekend of Gulf Coast Reads kicks off with a trio of great free events! On Saturday at 12:00, the South Regional Library of Montgomery County, at 2101 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands, will host a presentation by Casey Edward Greene from the Rosenberg Library in Galveston on the 1900 storm. At 3:00, Arch Andrus, author and local expert on Gulf Coast cooking, will be teaching about typical coastal cooking of 1900 at the Bellaire City Library, 5111 Jessamine St.
On Sunday at 3:00, join author Ann Weisgarber and Houston Chronicle editor of "Gray Matters," Lisa Gray, for a conversation about The Promise at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Please come to the Brown Auditorium Theater, Lower Level, Caroline Weiss Law Building (1001 Bissonnet). Museum admission is FREE for those who attend this program. If you hurry, you can make them all!
